ROMANCE IN ROXBURY: A Week of Love

Romance in Roxbury is a week-long celebration of LOVE throughout the hamlet, with a variety of Love themed events at restaurants, galleries, and stores that will make you want to cozy up to the ones you love, and fall in love with Roxbury.

Stroll down our quaint Main Street and through our beautiful Kirkside Park for a romantic feel of yesteryear; stop in our unique shops for bubbly, cookies, and a blush wine tasting; write your own love poem, with help from a few poets; view a passion-filled art exhibit. T

hey say the way to one’s heart is through their stomach, and Roxbury will be serving up distinctive Valentine’s Day menus and specials.

Saturday & Sunday, February 9 -10

Kimchee Harvest Kitchen and Chappie’s will be serving breakfast and lunch to warm you up.

Bearpen Mountain (located just over the hill in Prattsville) will be hosting The Catskill Mountains Snowshoe Festival with CRNA. The event will include a 10K walk/hike/run on Saturday, starting at 10 AM. Featuring beer sales from West Kill Brewing and snacks from Outsiders Kitchen will be on hand to add to the festivities. ● MTC (Margaretville) Valentine Picture photo booth on the front porch, stop by and take your selfie! Open anytime, all day, all month.

PDA Woodworks will have an Open House to showcase their latest projects on Saturday, 12 to 5:00.

Round Back Antiques Enjoy listening to Love themed Songs playing on their Talking Machines, Gramophones and a 1915 Edison Amberola which plays wax cylinders. There will be decorating of Valentine’s cookies, along with an exhibit of artwork by Helene Manzo & Deborah Ruggerio.

Roxbury Arts Group presents FIRE!: A Ceramics Exhibit, curated by Peter Yamaoka. Fire! is a survey of ceramic artists living and working in and around the Catskills, representing a variety of stylistic approaches, techniques, and artistic vision. Saturday, 10-3:00. www.roxburyartsgroup.org

Roxbury General will have local poets writing short, original poems for visitors, “Writing Romance in Roxbury,” along with a “Mail Box” to collect any V'Day cards or poems from RG, and mail them, free of charge on Saturday, from 11 to 3:00. Bubbly will be served.

Esther de Jong, Roxbury poet extraordinaire, will be at Roxbury General to help you find the words and write short, original poems for your loves.

Roxbury Wine and Spirits will be doing a "Think Pink Wine Tasting" featuring wines to win the heart, on Saturday, from 11 to 2:00.

● Union Grove Distillery (located in Arkville) Vocalist Kim Hawkey and pianist Loren Daniels will be performing live with jazz standards and favorites from the American Songbook. Saturday from 6 to 9PM
